About the Class Calendar

At the very bottom of this page, you will find a calendar with important dates and homework information. We use our planners everyday in class, but if you are ever absent or forget your planner, this is where you should look! Or if you have a parent that has questions about when an assignment is due, show them the calendar.

You can also send me an email or post a comment if you have questions!

This week we have learned about common multiples and common factors. This is a fun game to practice these skills: Snowball Fight!

ALSO, what can you do if you are stuck on a homework question?????
1. Reread the question out loud. Break it down into steps. What is the first thing you should do? Then the second? etc.
2. Ask a parent or older sibling.
3. Ask a friend from class.
4. Check out the Multnomah County Library Homework Help page. Did you know you can text a librarian?
5. And finally, if all else fails, wait till we go over homework in class together.

Hi new 6th graders! Welcome to our class page! I will try to put updates up here as much as I can remember, and sometimes homework or assignments. Go BACK to the link we searched yesterday and find TWO MORE jobs you might be interested in. Write them on a blank piece of paper.

THEN take the Career Color Test and start on the worksheet. You can also try this color test.

If you finish both of those activities, go to this List of Careers  for the next part of the worksheet. I will show the whole class how to find things.

Best Behavior and what not...

Hi guys,

So I've heard about EVERYTHING that's happened in the last few days from Ms. Smith and Mr. Phillips and Mr. Swan and Ms. Scotto (I told you EVERYTHING!) and while it sounds like things are going MOSTLY well, they could still be a little bit better. I've been emailing back and forth with Mr. Swan about the possibility of our next field trip to see The Hunger Games, but in order for our class to earn this, I will need to hear about behavior that is EXCEEDINGLY good. I'm talking about every single one of you being on time, and being a good listener, and turning in ALL of your work (it might help to suck up a little, too - just kidding! sort of...).

There is no specific date set for the field trip, so don't ask. I'm just saying that if things go well, then I will CONSIDER it.

Also, I'm going to leave it up to Ms. Smith and Mr. Phillips as to whether there is some class "fun time" on Friday afternoon. Oh yeah, and don't forget to make sure the room is spic n' span when I get back because I can't walk very much and I won't be able to clean up after you like normal :)
